Old, weedy or dead grass cut out and hauled away, leaving clean soil ready for new sod, turf or a new landscape.
Sometimes the best way to a great lawn is to start from scratch. A yard full of weeds, bermuda creeping into fescue, thatch that sheds water like a roof or turf that has simply worn out will not respond to another round of fertilizer. Removing the old lawn lets us fix the soil and the grade, which is where most lawn problems actually live.
We use a sod cutter to slice the old turf into strips just under the roots, roll or lift them and haul them away. That leaves the topsoil in place, which is far better than scraping it off with a skid steer. From there, we grade, amend and prepare the ground for sod, artificial turf or a new planting bed. We can also remove old turf and rock, and we mark irrigation heads and utilities first so nothing gets damaged.
A sod cutter slices just below the root layer, so the topsoil stays and only the old grass comes out.
Rolled strips are loaded and taken off site, so you are not left with a pile of old lawn in the driveway.
With the old grass gone, we can correct grade, loosen compaction and improve soil before anything new goes down.
We mark irrigation lines and heads and call before we dig, so removal is clean and nothing important is cut.

You tell us about your yard and what you want, a new lawn, a fix for a worn one or a turf area, and we set a visit that fits your day.

We mark utilities, remove old turf, set the grade, loosen and improve the soil and build the base before anything new goes down.
We lay sod in tight, staggered rows or install turf over a compacted stone base, with clean edges and tight seams.
We clean up, roll or brush the surface, walk you through the watering and care plan and set a reminder for your next check.
You can, but sprays leave dead thatch and weed seeds, and seed struggles on hard soil. Removing and relaying is cleaner and faster.
No. A properly set cutter takes only a thin layer, leaving your topsoil in place.
Most residential lawns can be stripped in a day, depending on size and access.
Yes, with care. We often pin new sod or add erosion matting afterward.
We haul it away. Some of it can be composted, and we take care of disposal.
