Cool-to-the-touch, slip-resistant turf around pools and patios, with no mud, no mowing and quick drainage after splashing.
Pool decks and patios take a lot of foot traffic with wet feet. Grass next to a pool turns to mud and tracks into the water, and hot stone can be uncomfortable on bare feet. Turf offers a soft, green border that stays clean, dries quickly and is comfortable to walk on, with a more natural look than bare concrete or pavers alone.
Around water we pay attention to details. We keep turf from sloping toward the pool, plan drainage so splash water flows through the turf and out, and use infill that resists compaction and algae. We trim cleanly against coping and pavers and keep edges flush to avoid trip points. We also discuss heat honestly: dark turf in full sun can get warm, so lighter blends, shade and rinsing matter. Some owners prefer a mix of turf and stone for the best of both.
Textured turf blades give good traction when wet, and the surface is gentler on bare feet than rough stone.
Water must flow through the turf and away from the pool. Rinsing also helps when chlorine or salt spray builds up.
Turf can warm in direct sun. We suggest lighter blends and shade, and keeping a hose handy.
Turf is cut flush to coping and pavers to prevent trip lips and keep fiber out of the pool.
