About sod, artificial turf, timing, watering, pets, drainage, HOAs and cost.

Getting started

Is the estimate really free?

Yes. The visit and the estimate are free and come with no obligation. You approve a written scope and price before any work begins.

What areas do you serve?

Nashville and communities across Middle Tennessee, including Franklin, Brentwood, Murfreesboro, Hendersonville, Mt. Juliet and more. See the service areas page for the full list.

Do you work for homeowners, builders and businesses?

All three. We work for homeowners, builders, HOAs, property managers, churches, schools, real estate agents and commercial owners.

What kinds of work do you do?

Sod installation, lawn preparation and renovation, artificial turf, commercial and specialty lawns, lawn and turf care and planning help.

Sod

When is the best time to lay sod in Nashville?

Early fall for tall fescue, with spring next. Late spring through early summer for Bermuda and zoysia. We can install in other seasons with extra care.

How soon can we walk on new sod?

Light traffic after a few days is fine. Normal use is best after the first mowing and a couple of weeks of rooting.

How much should I water new sod?

Keep it moist but not soggy, with light watering several times a day in the first week, then deeper and less often. We give you a written schedule.

Artificial turf

Does artificial turf drain?

Yes. A stone base and perforated backing let water pass through, so a well-built lawn dries quickly after rain.

Does turf get hot?

It can in direct summer sun. Shade, lighter blends and rinsing with water help, and we discuss it honestly before you decide.

Is turf good for dogs?

Pet turf with the right base, infill and edges is a popular choice because it drains, resists digging and rinses clean.

Soil, drainage and timing

What if my yard has clay soil?

Most Middle Tennessee yards do. Aeration, compost and loosening the soil before sod make a big difference, and tall fescue handles clay well.

Can you fix wet spots and standing water?

Often yes, with regrading, French drains, catch basins or downspout lines. We find the source first.

Do I need irrigation for new sod?

It is not required, but an irrigation system makes the first weeks far easier and more consistent than hand watering.

HOAs, permits and cost

Is artificial turf allowed in my neighborhood?

It depends on your association. Many allow it in back yards, and fewer in front. We help you check the rules and prepare approval requests.

How do I compare quotes?

Compare written scopes: area, soil preparation, materials, base depth for turf, cleanup and what happens if rock or roots are found. Our cost guide explains what drives the price.

Do you handle commercial and HOA properties?

Yes. We plan phased work around business hours, board budgets and event calendars.
