Old, flattened, smelly or worn-out turf lifted and hauled away, with the base checked and ready for new turf or sod.
Not all turf ages gracefully. Low-grade or poorly installed turf can flatten, fade, ripple, smell or split at the seams, and some old installations sit on bases that never drained properly. When it is time to start over, removal is a job in itself: the turf is heavy, glued, nailed and often covered in infill that has to go somewhere.
We cut the turf into manageable strips, lift the nails and adhesive, remove infill and haul everything away. Then we look at what is underneath. If the base is firm and draining, we can often reuse it. If it has settled or holds water, we rebuild it. From there you can install new turf, return to a natural lawn with sod or switch to a landscape bed. We give honest advice about which makes sense for your property.
Turf is cut into strips and pulled up with nails and adhesive removed, so the base is left clean.
Sand and infill are removed and hauled so they do not clog drainage or contaminate the soil.
We inspect the stone base and drainage. A firm, flat base can often be reused to save money.
Install new turf, switch to sod or build a bed. We help you decide based on how the old turf performed.
